Sattarkhan Boulevard Medical Complex

Situated at one of the most prestigious intersections in the metropolitan city of Shiraz—where the main arteries of Sattarkhan Boulevard and Motahari Boulevard converge—the Sattarkhan Boulevard Medical Complex occupies a strategic urban position. Adjacent to the Khodadoust Hospital, this prime location not only ensures optimal accessibility but also elevates the project to a distinctive urban landmark with a unique functional identity.

The site’s unconventional triangular geometry presented significant challenges in organizing functional spaces, particularly parking. However, the design response transcended a mere technical solution, manifesting instead in an organic, fluid geometry inspired by the dynamics of light and movement emerging naturally from the site context. This spindle-shaped form appears to grow from the ground itself, integrating harmoniously into the urban fabric with minimal visual disruption or unwanted shadow casting. This approach, alongside the functional complexities of the site, reflects the intersection’s movement patterns and embodies the spirit of fluidity within the building’s architectural language.

The façade composition features a blend of colored glass panels, transparent textures, and vertical greenery, creating a refined and balanced expression that enriches its environment. The rhythmic interplay of vibrant colors emphasizes the building’s dynamism and vitality, establishing it as a striking element on Shiraz’s skyline. The upper section contrasts a solid red stone layer with translucent glass, granting the structure a complete and enduring volumetric presence. Additionally, the northern façade incorporates a vertical garden that softens the building’s mass and exemplifies a successful integration of green architecture within a dense urban context.

The ground floor is designed with a human-centered, pedestrian-oriented approach, fostering a welcoming social space. Brightly colored walkways and transparent entrances transform the building from a mere physical mass into a public realm that encourages civic interaction. In harmony with the lively intersection, the project’s dynamic form—with its curved lines and colorful translucencies—serves as a metaphor for contemporary urban life, engaging in a vibrant dialogue with the accelerating rhythm of its surroundings.

At the tower’s pinnacle, the distinguished “Top Tower” space is dedicated to recreational and wellness activities, crowned by a green roof that completes the architectural composition. Beyond enhancing user experience, the rooftop garden contributes a pleasant, sustainable presence to the city skyline.

In this way, the Sattarkhan Medical Complex stands as a contemporary exemplar of organic and dynamic architecture—intelligently linked to its context, urban fabric, and the flow of city life—playing a lasting role in elevating the quality of public spaces and the urban identity of Shiraz.
